Stress can have a huge impact on muscles in the body, in particular your neck. As you tense up, the muscles in your neck tighten and can cause pain.
Obviously a massage can help relieve this tension in your neck, along with regular rolls of the shoulders and moving your neck.
Something I am keen to explore with my clients, is what else can be done to help, lifestyle wise or other. Chronic neck pain can also be a cause of irritability, fatigue and potentially even depression, which can on top of the chronic neck pain add more stress to your life and make the pain worse, cause an awful cycle that seems hard to get out of. I would recommend, taking time for you (time for you to breath), make lists and try to combat those lists with 10 minute timed tasks, drink water and make sure you are getting your sleep.
